Ambassador for Respect Essay & Art Contest
The Supernova Team is participating in the Ambassador for Respect Program. This week the students will be wearing blue wrist bands that signify that they are "Ambassadors for Dignity and Respect". The students are encouraged to participate in the essay and art contests provided through the program. The topic of both contests is "self-respect in cyberspace." Students participating in the contest are required to have their submissions to Mrs. Porter by Tuesday, January 11th. Any student who submits an essay or art work and follows all of the requirements will receive extended challenge points to use towards improving their grade in English 8 or Advanced English 8. The best submissions will be sent in to the Ambassador for Respect Program to compete. Winners of the contest will receive $100 prizes and their essays will be published in the Observer-Reporter newspaper. Winners will also be awarded certificates and prizes at the Teen Outreach Awards Night in May.
