Science Class: 2/28/13 (Chapter 11 Quia Activity)

Please complete the following steps in order. Please remain silent and on-task during the entire class period.

1. Click on the link to complete the "Chapter 11: The Flow of Fresh Water" using the Quia website. You are allowed to take the activity up to three times. If you do not score a 40 out of 40 (100%), retake the activity until you score a perfect or you have used all three attempts. Only your best score will be recorded in the gradebook. You may use your notes, book, and internet to help you with the activity.  You can also save your progress if you do not finish the activity.

Note: All attempts must be completed by Monday, March 4th.  

2. Ensure your "Chapter 11 Expert Sheets" are complete.  These will be due on Monday.

3. Explore the following website: USGS- Water Science For Schools

4. Once you finish everything else, pick from the following options.
Option 1: Examine water data from our area by exploring the following link. USGS- Water Resources
Option 2: Learn about the "Science in Your Watershed".
Option 3: Explore the EPA's website on water.
Option 4: Complete a "Read and React" paper for bonus.

Summer Science Splash Camp

Information:
Summer Science Splash Camp is a week-long residential summer camp funded by the II-IV Foundation and hosted by the Science in Motion on the campus of Juniata College. Spend your day performing experiments in the lab and outdoors using the same high-tech equipment college students and research scientists use. During free time enjoy water activities, tennis, swimming, and other splashing competitions. At night, play games or sports, watch movies or talk with new friends. Between daily experiments and nightly events, work with your team to gain points for prizes.
