Science Class: Friday - 3/23/12

Please complete the following steps in order. Please remain silent and on-task during the entire class period.

1. Click on the link below to log in to Quia and complete a short quiz. You are permitted to attempt the quiz TWO times.  If you do not earn a 100% on the first attempt, please read over the questions that you missed and retake the quiz.  Only your best score will be counted for a grade. You are permitted to use your notes, book, and the internet.
 
2.  Complete - "Weather Maps: Online Activity".  Ensure you pick up a copy of the activity from the front of the room.  This activity will be due on Monday.

3. Pick from the following Options:
  • Option 1 - The end of the nine weeks is 3/28/12.  If you want bonus points, you may complete a "Read and React" paper. 
  • Option 2 - HEADPHONES REQUIRED  - Explore - Weather World: This informative weather website contains forecasts and other features produced by Penn State University. 
  • Option 3 -  Explore - NOAA's National Weather Service:  This websites provides a plethora of information on the weather.
  • Option 4 - Explore - Daily Weather Maps: Think of a date within the last decade in which your life was influenced by the weather.  Use this database to examine the weather map from that day.

Science Class: Tuesday - 3/20/12

Please complete the following steps in order. Please remain silent and on-task during the entire class period.

1. Please pick-up and complete: "Webquest: Forecasting the Weather".  Use headphones if they are available.  This is due tomorrow.  You may turn the assignment in today once it is complete.
2. OPTIONAL - The end of the nine weeks is 3/28/12.  If you want bonus points, you may complete a "Read and React" paper. 

3. Explore - Station Models : This website provides some information on how to interpret a station model on a weather map.  Please read about how to use station models.  Try some of the practice exercises once you read through all the instructional pages. 

4. Explore  - Weather World: This informative weather website contains forecasts and other features produced by Penn State University.
